HI!
We are Alex and Kallyn Boerner, the husband-and-wife team of Burning Silver Photography.
A little bit about us …
We were married in Stuart, Florida on May 9, 2009. After more than a decade in Florida, we now call Durham, North Carolina our home.
We have both been working photojournalists for many years. We have worked in the Midwest, Northeast and Florida and have been published around the world. Some of Alex’s editorial work can be seen at www.alexboerner.com.
In addition to being a photographer, Kallyn is also a DONA (Doulas Of North America) International Certified Birth Doula, as well as a Certified Lactation Counselor. She spends a lot of time caring for, and photographing, mothers and babies and has found that photography and doula work are two practices that are very complementary. Information for her doula services and more of her infant photography can be seen at www.heartinhandsgroup.com.
Our approach …
We began Burning Silver Photography as a way to share the skills that we’ve learned and use them in a way that brings joy to those we photograph.
Our style of family photography is both loose and candid, but also can be formal. We like to mix the two, often beginning a portrait session with a few ideas in mind, but allowing for the spontaneity that often leads to some of our clients’ favorite photographs!
When photographing a wedding, our training and experience as photojournalists enables us to capture real moments as they unfold on one of the biggest days of your life. We also love making creative portraits during weddings and like to sneak away with you to make a handful of “signature portraits” throughout the day. These are often done after the ceremony and offer you the chance to spend a few quiet minutes together, taking in each other amidst the excitement and energy surrounding your wedding day.
We want to connect …
If you are looking for a fun, easy-going couple to photograph your wedding or family, then please contact us for an appointment. It is our pleasure to meet you!
Sincerely,
Alex & Kallyn Boerner
